Chet Marcus, CFP®

Chet, founder of Marcus Financial Advisors, began his financial management career in 1982 with Merrill Lynch in Boston and opened his Beverly office in 1985.  An independent branch manager for Raymond James Financial Services since 1986, Chet is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®); a registered agent for life and health insurance; and has licenses in general securities that allow him to provide investment advice in fourteen states.

In recognition of his outstanding client service and exemplary professional growth, Chet has been named to the RJFS Executive Council and was nominated for Outstanding Broker of the Year in Registered Rep and Worth magazine's Top 250 Advisors.  He's also a frequent guest speaker, locally and nationally, on financial services.  Chet feels that it's important to contribute time and talent to the community.  An enthusiastic Rotarian who lives their mission of "service above self," he has received two Paul Harris Awards and led a Rotary group study exchange to Italy in 2005.  As a past chairman, Chet remains active in the North Shore United Way, and he now serves as the President of the Beverly chapter of Toastmasters International, which he helped found.

Patricia Beckwith, CFP®

After working as a financial advisor with INVEST at a local bank, Patricia joined Chet in 1990.  A Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) who holds licenses for general securities and for health and life insurance, she focuses on clients' needs for retirement, asset allocation, education funding, life insurance, and long-term health care planning.

Her community contributions include serving as immediate past president of the Spar and Spindle Girl Scout Council, and she now serves on the nominating committee for the newly merged Girl Scouts of Eastern MA.  Patricia also sits on the board of the Essex County Estate Planning Council and is a charter member of Beverly Toastmasters.

Debbie Marcus, Client Services Manager
Since 1990, Debbie has improved our efficiency by managing our cash, opening and updating accounts, and specializing in working with law and CPA firms to facilitate settlement of estate assets.
Rotary is a large part of her community life.  A charter member and president of the Manchester-Essex Rotary Club, she has been on Rotaplast missions to Venezuela and Guatemala.

Dawn Cobak, Registered Principal, RJFS
Dawn earned her MBA from Northeastern University, has nearly 15 years of experience in financial services, and holds several FINRA licenses.  Her focus on compliance helps ensure that our information is accurate and meets all RJFS requirements.
Dawn is very involved in raising Autism Awareness.  Her son's diagnosis with the disorder has led her to become an active participant in Autism Speaks, Futures Behavior Therapy Center, and Friends of LADDERS, as well as a strong advocate for her son.  Her upcoming non-profit organization, For Jake's Sake, will provide funding for ABA services for autistic children in need.

JoAnn Middleton, Director of First Impressions
JoAnn greets clients and visitors in our executive office and on the phone as well as supervising client data and our contact management system.  She coordinates office logistics and organizes our frequent mailings, seminars, and events.
She is involved in fundraising for the Muscular Dystrophy Association through the Meredith, NH Harley-Davidson chapter.

Richard Southwick
Richard joined Marcus Financial Advisors in October 2007 after completing the CFP® certificate program at Merrimack College.  He specializes in retirement planning and supports Chet and Patricia with client meetings and portfolio modeling.
Richard grew up in Beverly and has lived in North Andover since 1979.  In his free time, he enjoys hiking and skiing alongside his wife, Mary Lou, and their son, Rick.  A graduate of Nasson College with a degree in mathematics, Richard worked for many years in the high tech field in Massachusetts prior to joining MFA.  Richard and Mary Lou remain active in the community through their continued support for disabled veterans and the Beverly School for the Deaf.

Jonathan Marcus, Director of Practice Management-Beverly
A recent addition to the practice, Jonathan manages the overall direction of the practice and assists with portfolio modeling and report construction.
Graduating with honors from Brown University with degrees in Medieval Cultures and Biology, Jonathan earned a Masters with distinction in Medieval English Literatures from the University of York's Centre for Medieval Studies in the UK, and he recently passed the general securities exam.  Jonathan has become active in the community through his participation in Beverly Bootstraps' Homework Club and his support for the Essex County Greenbelt Association.
